By accessing or using MemeGET ("Service", "Platform", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Statement. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our Service.

• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

3. User Content

3.1 Content You Post

You may post memes, images, Zingers (text posts), comments, and other content ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for all User Content you post.

3.2 Content Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you create and post on MemeGET. However, by posting content, you grant us:

• A worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display your content
• The right to use your content for the operation and promotion of MemeGET
• The right to sublicense content to other users of the platform
• The right to create derivative works for the purpose of improving the service

This license continues even if you stop using MemeGET, but you may revoke it by deleting your content.

3.3 Content Representations

By posting content, you represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to post the content
• Your content does not violate any third-party rights
• Your content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws
• You have obtained all necessary permissions for any identifiable people in your content

4. Prohibited Conduct

4.1 You May NOT

• Post illegal content: Content that violates any law or regulation
• Harassment or bullying: Content that targets individuals with abuse or threats
• Hate speech: Content promoting violence or hatred against groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
• Explicit content without warning: NSFW content must be marked appropriately
• Spam or manipulation: Artificial engagement, vote manipulation, or spam
• Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else or creating fake accounts
• Doxxing: Sharing private information without consent
• Copyright infringement: Posting content you don't have rights to use
• Malware or viruses: Content containing harmful code
• Exploitation of minors: Any content involving or exploiting children
• Self-harm or suicide: Content promoting or glorifying self-harm
• Illegal services: Promoting illegal drugs, weapons, or services

4.2 Platform Misuse

You may NOT:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform
• Interfere with other users' enjoyment of the service
• Use bots or automation without permission
• Scrape or collect data from the platform
• Reverse engineer or decompile the platform
• Create multiple accounts to evade bans
• Share or sell your account

5. Content Moderation

5.1 Our Right to Moderate

We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to:

• Review, monitor, and remove any content
• Suspend or terminate accounts for violations
• Refuse service to anyone for any reason
• Change or discontinue features at any time

5.2 Content Approval System

New posts may require approval before becoming publicly visible. This depends on your account status and role. Content may be held for review if:

• You are a new user
• Your account has a history of violations
• Automated systems flag it for review
• Other users report it

5.3 Flagging and Reporting

Users can report content they believe violates these Terms. Reports are reviewed by moderators. False or malicious reports may result in account penalties.

5.4 Appeals

If your content is removed or your account is suspended, you may appeal by contacting support. We will review appeals but are not obligated to reverse decisions.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 MemeGET's Rights

The MemeGET platform, including its code, design, logo, and features, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not:

• Copy or modify the platform
• Use our trademarks without permission
• Remove copyright notices
• Create derivative works

6.2 Copyright Policy (DMCA)

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content infringes your copyright:

1. Submit a DMCA takedown notice to: dmca@memeget.com
2. Include:
   • Description of the copyrighted work
   • URL of the infringing content
   • Your contact information
   • Statement of good faith belief
   • Statement under penalty of perjury that information is accurate
   • Your physical or electronic signature

We will investigate and may remove infringing content. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.

6.3 Counter-Notices

If your content was removed and you believe it was done in error, you may file a counter-notice. We will provide your counter-notice to the complainant.

7. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Statement explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using MemeGET, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Statement.

8. Safety and Behavior

8.1 Be Respectful

MemeGET is a community. We expect users to:

• Engage in good faith discussions
• Accept that people have different opinions
• Report violations rather than engage in arguments

8.2 Content Maturity System

We use a content maturity system to personalize content appropriateness:

• Level 0 (Clean): Family-friendly content
• Level 1 (Mild): Light adult humor
• Level 2 (Moderate): Mature themes
• Level 3 (Spicy): Explicit content (must be 18+)

Your maturity level progresses based on your engagement. All Level 3 content requires you to be 18+ and opt-in.

8.3 Political Content

Political content is allowed but must be respectful. You can:

• Filter political content you don't want to see
• Set your political affinity preferences
• Report content that crosses the line into hate speech

9. Features and Services

9.1 "For You" Feed

Our personalized feed uses an algorithm based on:

• Users and categories you follow
• Your engagement history
• Content preferences you set
• Content maturity level
• Recency and popularity

9.2 Zingers (Text Posts)

Zingers are short text posts (200 characters max) with visual backgrounds. Daily limits may apply based on your account status.

9.3 Verification Badges

Verified badges indicate authentic accounts. We grant verification at our discretion to:

• Notable public figures
• Active, trusted community members
• Organizations

Verification can be revoked at any time.

9.4 Saved Items

You can save memes privately for later viewing. Saved items are private and not visible to other users.

10. Third-Party Services

10.1 External Links

MemeGET may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or practices. Use at your own risk.

10.2 Social Login (OAuth)

If you use Google OAuth or other social login services, their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services.

10.3 Integrations

We may integrate with third-party services (hosting, analytics, etc.). Our service providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.

11. Disclaimers and Limitations

11.1 "As Is" Service

MemeGET is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation

11.2 No Guarantee

We do not guarantee that:

• The service will be available at all times
• Content will be accurate or complete
• Defects will be corrected
• The service is free from harmful components

11.3 User Content Disclaimer

We are not responsible for user-generated content. Views expressed by users do not represent our views or values.

11.4 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MemeGET and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall NOT be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or use
• Personal injury or property damage
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access
• Damages from user content or conduct

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of MemeGET shall not exceed $100 USD or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (if any), whichever is greater.

11.5 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MemeGET from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Your content
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

12. Termination

12.1 Your Right to Leave

You may stop using MemeGET at any time. You can delete your account in your settings.

12.2 Our Right to Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without notice, for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Illegal activity
• Harm to other users or the platform
• At our discretion for any reason

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your right to use MemeGET ceases immediately
• Your content may remain visible but attributed to "Deleted User"
• Some provisions of these Terms survive (including liability limitations)
• You remain responsible for any violations that occurred before termination

13. Dispute Resolution

13.2 Arbitration Agreement

15. Community Guidelines

15.1 Be a Good Member

To maintain a positive community:

• Be funny, not cruel: Humor is great, but don't punch down
• Give credit: If you repost content, credit the original creator
• Use appropriate content warnings: Mark NSFW content properly
• Respect boundaries: If someone asks you to stop, stop
• Report, don't retaliate: Use the flag system for violations

15.2 Quality Over Quantity

We value quality contributions. While there's no hard limit on posts, excessive low-quality content may result in restrictions.

15.3 Engage Authentically

Don't engage in vote manipulation, spam, or artificial engagement. Build your following organically.
